During his discussion with son, Gabo (Coco Matin), and brother-in-law Dante (Julio Diaz), Rudy (Joey Marquez) can't help but notice how seemingly excessive the preparations of their neighbors are for his birthday celebration—from decking Paraiso compound with colorful decorations to cooking a variety of dishes. As the Magtibays approach them, the neighbors happily greet him with a "happy birthday," with Aling Diday (Diana Opilac) imparting that this is also their way of welcoming Gabo after eight years in prison and Gloria as a newcomer to Ginintuang Lupa.
Gabo's barkada suddenly arrives, with Bong (Smugglaz) and Ipe (Bassilyo) performing a rap song they specially compose and dedicate to Rudy. Their performance immediately fills the party with fun and energy even before the celebration officially begins. Gabo then urges them to change into nicer clothes, especially Rudy, so they can finally start the festivities, at the same time handing Gloria the pastel-yellow dress he bought for her at an ukay-ukay the day before.
As everyone has already begun drinking, singing, and dancing, Tekla (Sue Ramirez) suddenly makes a grand entrance through an explosive performance. She is joined by some of their neighbors who serve as her backup dancers, completely catching everyone by surprise. Clad in a sexy velvet magenta dress, Tekla dances her way into the celebration while presenting the birthday cake she apparently bought for the birthday celebrant.
When Gabo jokingly calls her out for going to all the trouble of preparing for his father's birthday, Tekla sarcastically downplays her efforts, saying, "Sinabi ko naman Gabo, hindi 'to handang-handa. Hindi ako nag-abala para rito basta para sa'yo nanginginig pa." She then invites everyone to watch the intermission number that her companions have prepared for the event.
