Following their heated confrontation with Betchay (Irma Adlawan) after she finally learns about her, Gloria (Julia Montes) can't help but feel apologetic for causing trouble for the Magtibay family. However, Gabo (Coco Martin) assures her that she has nothing to be sorry about since she has done nothing wrong.
Gabo also apologizes for the hurtful words that Betchay hurls at her, explaining that it is simply how she is. Rudy (Joey Marquez) chimes in, asserting that as the patriarch of the family, he has the final say on who stays and who leaves their household. Mameng (Ces Quesada) adds that Betchay's spiteful reaction is precisely why they don't want her to find out about Gloria.
Worried that Gloria gets offended by his stepmother's snide remarks, Gabo once again expresses his regret for not being able to protect her from Betchay. Rudy then invites Gabo to come with him outside, where he airs his frustration over the way Betchay treats them. When Dante (Julio Diaz) remarks that he is surprised Rudy ever liked Betchay, Rudy admits that he is equally surprised by how drastically her attitude has changed after their unborn child died.
Still reeling from the painful events of the past, Gabo can't help but blame himself for Betchay's sudden change in demeanor. But Rudy tells him not to hold himself accountable, insisting that what happened is not his fault and does not justify Betchay's cruel treatment of them. Dante then voices his concern that Betchay will surely turn against Gloria, which visibly worries Gabo.
Meanwhile, Sam's heart seems to soften toward Gabo as she feels sorry about the way his stepmother viciously treats him, as well as appreciates him for who he truly is.
