The rift within the Jacinto family continues to widen as they still have no leads regarding the whereabouts of their youngest member, Sam (Julia Montes), who remains missing following the Zafras’ failed attempt to ambush her.
Upon arriving home from work, an exhausted Max (Arci Muñoz) is greeted by an anxious Isobel (Carmi Martin), who desperately asks if she has any good news to share. Max glumly tells her that the NLEA has yet to find any trace of her sister, leaving her with no idea what has happened to Sam or where she could be.
This further upsets Isobel, comparing Max to Ricardo (Edu Manzano) for being just all talk but not doing enough to find Sam. Clearly hurt by his mother's words, Max finally breaks down in front of Isobel as she conveys how tired she already is after days of searching for her sister. Overwhelmed by her emotions, Max also fires back at her mother, saying, “Eh kayo? Ano bang ginawa ninyo buong araw? Mag-worry, umiyak? May naitulong ba ’yon? Sabihin mo nga, naitulong? Wala!”
Max immediately regrets her words, but it is already too late as Isobel is deeply hurt by the way Max made her feel as though she is of no use to their family, particularly in their efforts to find Sam. Adding insult to injury, Ricardo, who suddenly arrives at the scene, tells Isobel that Max actually has a point.
Further triggered by her husband’s remark, Isobel furiously reminds them that, unlike them, she is just an ordinary citizen who does not have the capability to investigate and uncover the truth. She
even accuses Ricardo of hiding something from her and keeping her in the dark about the real circumstances surrounding Sam’s disappearance.
Their heated altercation is interrupted by the arrival of Sam's fellow NCIA agent and admirer Sebastian (JC de Vera), whom Isobel eagerly approaches, hoping that he has finally brought good news about her daughter’s case. Much to her dismay, however, Seb imparts that he and his teammates at the NCIA are still searching for Sam, prompting Isobel to walk away in frustration.
As Max confronts him about what brought him to their house, Seb explains that he simply wanted to offer the family his support and comfort, as well as update them on the latest developments in the NCIA’s investigation. Despite being straightforward about his mistrust on NCIA, Ricardo still expresses his willingness to listen to whatever information Seb has to share.
