On his way home, Gabo (Coco Martin) suddenly panicked when he saw Sam/Gloria (Julia Montes) and his family among the group of people carrying their unconscious family friend, Badong (Salvador Domasian), out of the Paraiso compound to bring him to the hospital. Badong had accidentally fallen from the roof of the Magtibay residence while he and Elton (Lito Camo) were fixing it.
Gabo quickly approached Sam and his family and pulled her back toward their house, telling them that it would be dangerous for them to go to the hospital with their neighbors. When they questioned him about what he meant by “dangerous,” Gabo said that there was nothing in particular. He was simply surprised to see Gloria outside and was afraid that she might become the subject of gossip among their neighborhood.
After bringing out the clothes and food he had bought at the market, Gabo excused himself and his father, Rudy (Joey Marquez), to speak with him privately about something important. Gabo explained to Rudy that he had genuinely meant it when he said it would be dangerous for Gloria to go outside, as the goons and NCIA agents who had separately searched for her the night before had returned to Ginintuang Lupa. Although he had asked his friends and some of the neighbors to keep watch for any unfamiliar or suspicious men, Gabo told Rudy that it was better to be safe than sorry, so they couldn’t simply allow Gloria to leave the house.
As her eyes met Gabo's and they exchanged smiles, she imagined telling him, "In fairness din sa'yo ah, talagang nag-aalala ka sa akin. Akala ko pakitang tao lang."
