As Sam (Julia Montes) notices Gabo (Coco Martin), Rudy (Joey Marquez), and Mameng (Ces Quesada) scrambling to hide her from Betchay (Irma Adlawan) upon her arrival earlier that day, she can't help but ask Gabo about it.
He apologizes to her, explaining that he simply doesn't want Betchay to get mad once she finds out about her and sees her inside his bedroom. Sam then asks Gabo why Betchay seems to be angry at him, to which he replies that she has been hostile toward him ever since he was a child, although he doesn’t know the reason why.
Gabo recounts that it started when Betchay (Jennica Garcia) suffered a miscarriage after she was accidentally hit by a motorcycle while saving him from being run over by a jeepney as they were shopping at the market. She became depressed and blamed Gabo for losing her unborn child. Despite his apologies, she still lashed out at him, telling him that he would never be her child, so he should stop calling her "nanay."
Mameng (Nikki Valdez) asked her not to take her anger out on Gabo, reminding her that nobody wanted what transpired to happen. But Betchay couldn’t find it in her heart to forgive Gabo at the time, especially after learning that she would no longer be able to conceive and have a family of her own.
Seeing his Nanay Betchay's wrath and resentment, Gabo asked Mameng if it was really his fault that she lost her child. Mameng assured him that it wasn't, explaining that what happened was an accident and that Betchay herself was unaware that she was already pregnant.
