Singer-actress Geneva Cruz approached the “Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal” stage with composure after being selected by the Lucky Wheel as the special celebrity player for the game show’s September 5 episode.
Picturing what she would do if she won the coveted ₱1 million jackpot, Geneva shared a plan she had long been wishing to pursue. Beaming with excitement, she explained that she would launch and sell a beauty product she had been developing. She said the personal project would be a fulfillment of her advocacy for fitness, wellness, and longevity.
Without second-guessing herself, Geneva made the bold decision to keep her assigned briefcase, number 17, rather than try her luck elsewhere.
During the opening round, Geneva started off on the wrong foot after opening a briefcase containing ₱125,000. This was followed by the ₱400 cash prize inside veteran comedian Long Mejia’s briefcase. Two six-digit amounts then left the money board back-to-back when Geneva opened briefcases containing ₱150,000 and ₱250,000. She ended the round with the ₱5 prize inside Jannah Alanise’s briefcase.
Hoping to recover gracefully from the early setback, Geneva delivered a better performance in the second round by eliminating ₱25 and ₱1,000. When it was time to choose her third briefcase for the round, Geneva introduced her daughter, London, and asked for her help.
London set her sights on seasoned entertainer Negi’s briefcase, number 7. Proving to be one of her many lucky charms, London brought Geneva some good fortune as she celebrated upon learning that Negi’s briefcase contained only ₱200. The celebrity player then turned to BINI Gwen and asked her to choose a briefcase.
Gwen picked briefcase number 8, in line with BINI’s mantra, “Walo hanggang dulo.” Both Geneva and Gwen breathed a sigh of relief when they learned that it contained only ₱10,000.
