As soon as Sam (Julia Montes) left the NCIA headquarters to head home, Agent Pia Catacutan (Katherine Luna) spoke with Director Fernando Delgado (Soliman Cruz) in his office about the ambush that took place earlier that day and the possible developments in the case involving the Zafras, especially now that their business partner-turned-key witness, Mr. Chan (Mike Castillo), was already dead.
Meanwhile, outside the office, Sam’s teammates discussed the latest updates in their investigation into the incident. When Agent Tony Castor (Mark Lapid) expressed concern upon learning that Sam had already departed, her longtime admirer, Agent Sebastian Tuazon (JC de Vera), assured the team that they had nothing to worry about because Sam could certainly defend herself. However, he added that if things got worse, he would be there to save her as her “knight-in-very-shining armor.”
Not long after, Dir. Delgado received a distress call from Sam, who asked for backup after realizing that she was being pursued by a convoy of suspicious vehicles. Unbeknownst to her, the vehicles were carrying Victor Zafra’s (JM de Guzman) younger brother, Lucas (Ronwaldo Martin), along with their henchmen, as they aimed to silence her as well.
The chase intensified when Lucas and his men started firing at Sam, until she was forced to retaliate and pull over. She bravely got out of her car and continued exchanging gunfire with them but eventually had to stop and retreat as Lucas hit her on her left arm.
