After successfully borrowing P100,000 from Pops (Joonee Gamboa) at the end of his intensive orientation and training with the covert group Anino, Gabo (Coco Martin) immediately went back to the hospital to deliver the money to Potchoy (Jaze Capili) and his Aunt Mercy (Darelle Tiu).
Upon his arrival, Mercy informed him that her sister-in-law was already undergoing surgery in the emergency room. However, despite the procedure already underway, they remained worried about how they would settle the hospital bills. Thus, Gabo quickly put their worries to rest by telling Mercy that he already had the money they needed.
Grateful for his help, Mercy thanked him profusely and entrusted Potchoy to Gabo while she headed to the cashier to make the payment. Left alone with Potchoy, Gabo asked the young boy how he was doing and tried to ease his fears. He reminded Potchoy not to worry too much because God would surely never forsake his mother and would surely let her live.
As Potchoy broke down in tears and expressed his fear of losing his mother, Gabo reassured him that it would not happen. “Huwag kang matakot,” he began. “Sa buhay ng tao, darating ang pagkakataon na wala tayong makakasama at kinakailangan mong mag-isa. Kaya kinakailangan mo itong matutuhang labanan at harapin.”
Gabo then asked Potchoy to stop crying, assuring him that he would not abandon him. He sealed his promise with a tight, comforting embrace, giving the frightened boy the reassurance and strength he needed during such a difficult moment.
