Upon learning from her teammates that Mr. Chan (Mike Castillo)—the sole witness to the gold-smuggling case they have been working on—has been killed along with the NCIA agents tasked with transferring him from the NCIA headquarters to a safehouse, Sam (Julia Montes) furiously confronts Victor “Tigre” Zafra (JM de Guzman), who remains in the detention cell.
As Sam tells Victor that Mr. Chan is already dead, he scoffs and sarcastically dismisses her insinuations that he had something to do with the ambush. Sam then reminds him of the time he attempted to kill his former business partner while they were in the same cell, leading her to believe that he has people working on his behalf outside.
Determined to uncover the truth, Sam warns Victor that once she proves that he or his family had a hand in the ambush that killed Mr. Chan and her fellow NCIA agents, she will make sure they both end up behind bars. She is willing to do whatever it takes to unravel the truth, even if it means putting her own career at risk.
Just as Sam is about to leave, Victor asks her why she isn't looking for the long-haired man—referring to Gabo (Coco Martin), whom he encountered in Chinatown on the night of his arrest and who also helped Sam and her team apprehend Mr. Chan. When Sam asks if he knows the man, Victor cryptically replies, “That’s for me to know and for you to find out." He then tells her that they will have to race against each other to find Gabo, warning that the moment he gets out, he will come after not only Sam but also the long-haired man and make them pay for all their transgressions against him.
Following her heated spat with Victor, Sam can't help but ponder if the man Victor and Mr. Chan were referring to happens to be the same man who stole a kiss from her and bumped into her during their separate missions at the bar. Since Mr. Chan seems to know a lot about the gold-smuggling syndicate, she has become more eager to find him and confirm whether he's a friend or a foe.
