After single-handedly taking down the goons who rob a mother and son whom he happens to encounter on his way to the Anino hideout, Gabo (Coco Martin) manages to bring the woman—who is identified as Linda Reyes by his devastated son, Potchoy (Jaze Capili)—to the hospital. Her devastated son, Butchoy (Jaze Capili), identifies her as Linda Reyes.
With no one else to contact since Linda’s cellphone is in the bag the thieves attempted to steal, Gabo simply asks the nurse to do everything they can to save her. While waiting for Linda to
undergo surgery, Gabo consoles the distraught Potchoy, assuring him that he shouldn’t worry because God will never forsake him and his mother. He then takes Potchoy to the hospital chapel, where they pray together for Linda’s recovery.
Watching Potchoy pray reminds Gabo of his beloved late mother, Belinda (Cristine Reyes), who taught him how to pray when he was still a child. He tells Potchoy that he knows exactly how he feels because he lost his mother when he was just a young boy like him, so he doesn’t want him to go through it as well. He continues to comfort Potchoy by reminding him that God loves him and will never abandon him, as well as that He will surely hear his fervent prayer to save his mother.
Not wanting Potchoy to suffer the same fate he did, Gabo becomes even more determined to ask Paps (Joonee Gamboa) for a new assignment that will allow him to help Linda and Potchoy.
