It may have been decades since the untimely death of his mother, Belinda (Cristine Reyes), but Gabo (Coco Martin) continues to be haunted by the tragic event that forever changed their family—one that he personally witnessed as a young boy.
The painful memory once again resurfaced in a nightmare, jolting him awake. Unable to fall asleep again, he decided to get out of bed and step outside the house. There, he found his father, Rudy (Joey Marquez), sitting alone, quietly nursing a bottle of beer as he lost himself in thought.
When Gabo opened up about the nightmare, Rudy revealed that he already knew what was on his son’s mind: he wanted to seek revenge against the people responsible for Belinda’s murder. Fearing that Gabo might put his own life at risk, Rudy discouraged him from pursuing his vengeful plan and urged him to let the past go. But Gabo was determined to uncover the identities of those responsible, driven by his desire to attain justice for his mother’s death.
Gabo pressed Rudy for answers, asking him who had killed his mother. But instead of telling the truth, Rudy lied and claimed that he had no idea who the perpetrators were. Despite his father’s denial, Gabo remained determined to track them down and avenge Belinda’s death.
Rudy attempted to beg him not to go after them anymore out of fear that they might retaliate against Gabo and that he would lose him the same way he had lost his wife. But his pleas fell on deaf ears, as Gabo firmly told him that he did not care who they were, and that he would not stop
searching for them until he had secured justice—and exacted revenge—for what they had done to his mother.
Realizing that he could no longer stop Gabo from carrying out his plan, Rudy could only give his son a few reassuring pats on the shoulder before heading back inside their abode, leaving Gabo on his own.
