While Rudy (Joey Marquez), Mameng (Ces Quesada), and Dante (Julio Diaz) worry about how they'll hide their unexpected visitor from Betchay (Irma Adlawan), who is sure to be fuming mad once she gets home and finds Sam (Julia Montes) there the next day, Gabo (Coco Martin) is, on the other hand, thrilled to have her by his side.
As he embraces her to keep her warm while she's asleep, Gabo can't help but be mesmerized by the beauty of Sam as he gazes at her. He tells her, "Kung ako lang ang tatanungin, ayos lang sa akin kahit magtagal ka rito sa amin. Huwag kang mag-alala, aalagaan kita. Alam mo kahit ang dami mong atraso sa akin, pinapatawad na kita."
Gabo soon notices that Sam is becoming uneasy and realizes that she has a high fever. Thinking that it might be due to the cold breeze entering through the hole on the roof of his room where Sam crashed into, he covers it with a sakoline but to no avail. Thus, he frantically leaves his bedroom and approaches his Aunt Mameng to inform her that Sam has a fever.
Mameng grows even more concerned and suggests putting ice on Sam's forehead to bring her temperature down—or, better yet, taking Sam to the hospital before they become embroiled in even deeper trouble. Gabo, however, strongly objects, warning that it would be too risky because they have no idea who Sam's enemies are and taking her to the hospital can only give her pursuers a chance to track her down. He pleads with them to do whatever they can for Sam for the time being, a request Mameng heeds by tending to Sam anew.
As Dante echoes his wife's concern that they can become implicated in whatever mess Sam is involved in, Gabo insists that they have no choice but to keep her there. What matters most, he says, is protecting Sam from whoever is after her. Rudy agrees with his son, reminding Dante that they will surely carry the guilt if anything bad happens to her.
Gabo then confesses that, despite how deeply he cares about Sam, he actually considers her a mortal enemy following their two unpleasant encounters. He furiously recounts to them that the first one happened on the day of his emancipation, when he accused her of kissing her after they had managed to save a group of bus passengers from a robbery. Their second confrontation, meanwhile, took place at a bar, where they literally bumped into each other, and she almost slapped him.
Upon hearing Gabo's story, Rudy and Dante can't help but be worried about what Sam might do to him once she regains consciousness. However, it's the least of Gabo's concern for now because more than anything, he wants to make sure that they can keep Sam safe from imminent harm.
