True to Gabo's (Coco Martin) assumption that the life of Sam is indeed in great danger, his Uncle Dante (Julio Diaz) returns to their house and relays to them that their neighbors have actually spotted a group of armed men has been lurking around their neighborhood that night. However, he doesn't tell anyone about Sam and simply observes the situation out of curiosity.
Upon hearing her husband's update, Mameng (Ces Quesada) suggests to Dante and Rudy (Joey Marquez) that, while they wait for Sam to wake up and regain her health, they must always make sure that the doors are locked. She fears that Sam’s enemies might discover that they have been hiding her in their home.
As his father, aunt, and uncle step out of his bedroom, Gabo stands by Sam's side and gazes at her, telling her on his mind, "Hindi ko alam kung bakit ka rito bumagsak sa amin. Pinaglalaruan ba tayo ng tadhana? Bakit tayo palaging pinagtatagpo?"
He then adds, "Pero huwag kang mag-alala, hindi kita pababayaan. Habang nasa poder kita, sisiguraduhin kong walang mangyayaring masama sa'yo."
Sam suddenly begins shivering, making Gabo extra worried, especially when he confirms that she indeed has a high fever. He tries to warm her by rubbing his hands together and blowing on them until they generate some heat, then placing one of them on her forehead. He also uses his jacket as a blanket, but neither effort seems to be enough to stop her chills.
Desperate to help Sam, he embraces her, hoping to keep her warm with his body heat.
