Colors once again predicted someone’s luck on “Rainbow Rumble,” as some of the country’s finest rappers—Sisa, Crispin, Kial, Ruby Yumage, and Bassilyo—joined the show on March 28.
Bringing heat to the stage with their bars and rhymes, the rappers transformed into Rumblers as they took on the “Rally to the Top” round. It was a tough battle among all of them, but Ruby, Bassilyo, and Kial went head-to-head for the top spot, with Kial and Bassilyo using their ‘Atras Powers’ against each other. In the end, Ruby, with her sharp wit, emerged as the lucky player who proceeded to the jackpot round.
In an exclusive interview, the Rumblers looked back on their overall experience playing “Rainbow Rumble.” Reflecting on how it felt not being fortunate enough to reach the final level, Crispin said everything was fine for him, “Ginawa lang namin ‘yung masaya. Suporta rin sa kung ano ‘yung ibigay. In-enjoy lang ‘yung laro.” He was already delighted by the fact that he was able to answer during the game.
Meanwhile, Sisa noted that although she was swift enough to swipe for an answer, her fellow contenders were quicker than her. “Masyado kong iniintindi ‘yung question. Pero kahit ano pang mangyari, naging masaya tayo ngayong araw na ‘to,” she said. Bassilyo shared the same sentiment, “Hindi rin naman biro na makarating ka don [sa dulo]. Iba pa rin ‘yung kaba kapag nandun ka na. Sobrang enjoy, sarap at saya. Gagawin at gagawin ko pa rin ‘to hangga’t pwede,” he expressed. Kial, who came close to winning the first part of the game, highlighted how much he enjoyed the experience. “Na-enjoy ko naman ‘yung laro, at na-excite ako. Masaya din kami para sa kanya [Ruby],” he said.
The topic then shifted to which part of the show they struggled with the most, and Crispin pointed out the questions that were mostly related to Gen Z. “Kasi matatanda na kami. Talagang ‘di ko maibaba ‘yung [kamay] ko eh. ‘Di ko talaga alam.” As for Sisa, she admitted she mostly had a hard time swiping for answers. “Sila, mabilis sila. Talo talaga sa bilis.”
“Pinaka-nahirapan ako dun sa mga kaibigan kong hindi makasagot,” Bassilyo jokingly shared, earning laughs from everyone. Kial leaned more on his experience of having a mental block, “Kahit alam mo na ‘yung tanong, minsan mabablanko ka,” he conveyed.
When it comes to the lessons they learned from playing on “Rainbow Rumble,” Crispin emphasized the importance of enjoying the game, saying that even if there is reward money at stake, having fun is what truly makes it a real game. Kial and Sisa shared the same sentiments, with the latter adding that sportsmanship must also be practiced. Bassilyo offered some wise words: “Lamang ang may alam. Kailangan may stock knowledge ka talaga.”
The “Rally to the Top” winner Ruby had an impressive track record all throughout. Even though she was not able to clinch the jackpot prize, she highlighted that the art of satisfaction and having fun simultaneously is what’s most essential, emphasizing, “Kahit ano pang makuha mong prize o premyo, as long as naging masaya, all goods na ‘yun.”
Ruby revealed that she received an urgent notice from Bassilyo informing her that she would be joining “Rainbow Rumble,” as she was out of town at the time. “Nakaka-excite na nakakakaba kasi first time ko ‘to,” she shared. Ruby said that even though she did not win, it was still a moment she would cherish from then on.
