The thrilling clash of colors continues in the March 21 episode of “Rainbow Rumble”! Hosted by Luis Manzano along with Ka-Rambol Negi, this time we’re joined by actors Paolo Paraiso, James Blanco, Carlo Maceda, Marcus Madrigal, and Luke Jickain.
As the tension shifts to the game, the players battle it out for the jackpot prize in the “Rally to the Top” round. In the first half, Paolo and Carlo locked horns in an intense showdown, with James and Luke just a step behind them. Carlo was on the run toward the top spot, prompting Luke and Paolo to strike a deal. they unleashed their “Atras Powers” at the same time against him, just as he was nearing victory.
However, despite these, Carlo managed to win, allowing him to proceed to “Rainbow Reveal,” where he also earned a few extra seconds to play after answering three questions in the “Rapid Rumble” round. Carlo’s luck was tested, but he still felt fulfilled even though he didn’t take home the main reward.
The Rumblers shared their fun anecdotes from their “Rainbow Rumble” experience. Paolo admitted feeling the adrenaline rush as he came close to winning the first level. “Medyo frustrating, pero it was a good competition. Nahasa rin ‘yung utak ko, enjoy din,” he said. For Marcus, everyone who played was impressively smart, especially Carlo. “He’s really bright, pero ang hirap pala. It’s fun, everybody’s enjoying.”
Luke expressed his delight, especially since this experience marked his first time returning to the spotlight after a long while. “’Yun pa lang, masayang-masaya na ako. Kahit ‘di ako nakapasok ng jackpot, okay lang. Si Carlo naman is a very close friend.” He even relived a fond memory with Paolo and Carlo, whom he has known ever since they were all 16 years old.
When asked which part of the game was challenging for them, Paolo admitted he didn’t struggle much because he enjoys trivia. “Medyo malawak ‘yung utak ko sa trivias. Enjoy na enjoy ako sa format na ’to. Nahirapan lang ako sa kulay. Kung wala lang ‘yung kulay, tinalo ko na sana si Carlo,” he joked, though he genuinely liked the concept of the show. For Luke, despite the excitement of answering, he emphasized the importance of listening intently.
Following this, they shared the lessons they learned while playing. Paolo kept it simple, saying he enjoyed the experience. “Lahat ng mga pressure sa buhay natin, wala ’yun. Just do what you do, and just power through.” Meanwhile, Luke emphasized the importance of thinking carefully before answering. “Kasi baka mali, ma-steal din ng kalaban,” he said.
“Rally to the Top” winner Carlo wasn’t after the money, but rather the fun and the added buzz of playing under pressure. “Bonus na lang ‘yung prize, but I was thinking more of reconnecting with my friends. I’m looking forward to more shows like these,” he mentioned, expressing how much he missed everyone and even being back in the studio.
Carlo watched the previous episodes of “Rainbow Rumble” as part of his preparation when he was invited to play. “So I had an idea of how the mechanics work, tapos ‘yung wife ko, nire-review niya ako sa mga questions. So it’s a teamwork, collaborative effort,” he conveyed, taking it as an advantage that gave him confidence to join.
To cap off, Carlo’s most memorable moment from the episode was when Paolo and Luke used their “Atras Powers” against him simultaneously. He thought he wouldn’t stand a chance to win, as the other Rumblers were also strong contenders. “They’re really good friends and good competitors,” he praised.
