Pambansang Host Luis Manzano, together with Ka-Rambol Negi, never fails to deliver a fun-filled episode of “Rainbow Rumble.” But on its February 7 episode, our favorite female comedians joined them onstage, doubling the laughter and energy.
This week’s roster of Rumblers featured Wilma Doesnt, Janna Dominguez, Mel Kimura, Dang Cruz, and Marissa Sanchez, who gamely bantered with one another and with the hosts, earning endless laughter from the audience.
During the round of “Rally to the Top,” it was an intense fight between Dang and Wilma, the frontrunners of the game. Janna, Marissa, and Mel tried to follow, with Janna and Mel using their "Atras Powers" against Dang. However, Dang still reached the top spot, earning a chance to play in the jackpot round.
Later on, our Rumblers opened up about their delightful “Rainbow Rumble” experience. When asked how she felt about not claiming the top spot for the jackpot round, Wilma Doesnt jested that the other contestants tried to ally against her. But she seriously added that she was happy, stating, “Masaya kasi ngayon na lang kami nagkita-kita. Minsan kasi ‘yung work mo mas nae-enjoy mo ‘pag kaibigan mo ‘yung kasama mo.” Despite losing the game, she emphasized that she still had fun playing.
Meanwhile, Janna Dominguez expressed her disappointment, especially during the last few questions, making it at the same level as Dang. “Nanghihinayang ako kasi sabi ko, ‘Lord, isa na lang [na question], tapos wala na akong ibang kalaban’,” she shared, adding, “[Despite] lahat ng regret, masaya naman ako.”
The question “A piece of ___,” with ‘cake’ as the correct answer was where Wilma struggled the most. For Janna, it was the question, “Kung may anim na kilong isda, ano ‘yung kalahati non? Tatlo,” which was meant as a joke but left her somewhat confused, making her struggle to comprehend.
Looking back on what they learned after joining “Rainbow Rumble,” Wilma joked that kindness is what truly matters. “Para hindi ka nila papaatrasin,” she remarked, recalling the moments when the “Atras Powers” were used against other contestants.
Janna, noting how it was a fresh experience for her to join “Rainbow Rumble,” said that she would love to participate again if given the chance. “Sana ‘wag kayong magsawa na imbitahan ako dito sa ‘Rainbow Rumble’ uli. At the end of the day, ‘yung friendship na kakilala mo ‘yung mga kasama mo, at the same time you have to enjoy it.” Although the ultimate goal is clinching the ₱1 million prize, she emphasized that it is just as important to enjoy the game while playing.
This week’s “Rally to the Top” winner, Dang Cruz, echoed Janna’s sentiment, stressing the importance of simply having fun while playing. When asked how she prepared for “Rainbow Rumble,” Dang revealed that she immediately did some review upon learning she would join the game---joking that she even enrolled in a “crash course” just to impart some knowledge.
Dang reflected that she truly enjoyed her entire experience of playing the game. “Nakaka-enjoy ‘yung nakaka-abante ka. ‘Yun talaga ‘yung nakaka-enjoy, ‘yung [kapag] nakakasagot,” she shared, highlighting the fun she had during her “Rainbow Rumble" journey.
