Prime character actors stepped away from their usual on-camera roles to play as game show contestants in the fun January 10 episode of “Rainbow Rumble.” The roster of Rumblers included Al Tantay, Baron Geisler, Ryan Eigenmann, William Lorenzo, and Gerhard Acao, who were all game to showcase their fun and competitive spirit.

Our Pambansang Host Luis Manzano was joined by Best Actress-Comedian Iyah Mina, who filled in for Negi as the episode’s Ka-Rambol.

Before the game started, Luis warmed up our Rumblers with a fun icebreaker: Sa dinarami-rami na role na ginawa mo, mayroon pa bang challenge or gusto mong gawin?

Baron shared that he hopes to portray a historical figure someday, someone in the vein of Juan Luna, while Gerhard expressed his wish to take on a gay role. Al said he would love to act in stories related to Holy Week, even something as profound as portraying Mary Magdalene. William revealed his dream of playing a superhero that children could enjoy watching, and Ryan Eigenmann, long known for his villainous portrayals, wished for a role that’s the complete opposite of his past characters.

To cap everything off, Luis asked Iyah Mina to choose from the five Rumblers the actors she would love to work with someday. Iyah picked Ryan and Baron, imagining a plot where they would play siblings.

Everything went smoothly during the game. Baron and Gerhard, who emerged as frontrunners early on, strategically used their “Atras Powers” against each other. William, despite being in last place, remained determined to push through, while Al and Ryan kept their chill approach to answering. In the end, Ryan managed to surpass both Baron and Gerhard, winning the “Rally to the Top” round.

After the game, the players shared their thoughts and fun experiences in a fun interview. William Lorenzo said he was happy to have joined the game, though he admitted feeling nervous and finding the challenges tough. Baron Geisler echoed the same sentiment, saying he was happy with the results and grateful to take home a prize. “Nag-enjoy ako, ‘yun ang pinaka-importante. At nakasama ko ‘yung mga paborito kong tao sa industriya,” he added.

Actor-director Al Tantay playfully wiped his tears before responding to the question. “Ngayon, ‘di pa ako maka-get-over, eh,” he joked, though he admitted that he truly enjoyed the experience of playing. “Just for fun” was Gerhard Acao’s mindset when he first arrived at the studio. He recalled bumping into Ryan Eigenmann and his family, and told Ryan that having his loved ones around would surely bring him luck in the game---and true enough, it did.

When asked which part of the game they found most challenging, William and Al both admitted struggling with the swiping mechanic to share their answers. For Gerhard, the difficulty came from being mentally blocked in the moment, as he was also nervous during the game. Baron, meanwhile, recalled when Gerhard used his “Atras Power” against him, prompting him to use his own “Atras Power” back in return. Nevertheless, he enjoyed the experience and was genuinely happy for Ryan, who advanced to the jackpot round.

When asked what they learned after playing in “Rainbow Rumble,” William shared that while the experience was nerve-wracking, he was happy. Baron reflected on the bigger picture, saying, “Enjoy life lang. Minsan, uusad. Minsan, aatras. Pero sa bawat pag-atras ay may chance ka pa rin na lumaban at maging maligaya sa buhay.”

Al echoed the same sentiment, “Siyempre, enjoy. Nakita ko rin ‘yung mga ibang friends na matagal kong hindi nakikita,” he added. Meanwhile, Gerhard said that if given another chance to join “Rainbow Rumble,” he would do even better. “Mahirap talaga kapag first experience mo, eh. At least may alam ka na. So next time, kung sasali ulit ako, alam na ‘yung diskarte,” he explained.

Lastly, despite not being able to take home the jackpot prize, Ryan Eigenmann shared that he learned to simply enjoy the moment. “Don't take it too seriously, point is to have fun, and it was very fun,” he said.

When asked how he prepared for the game, Ryan revealed that he watched previous episodes of “Rainbow Rumble.” As for the highlights he cherished, he admitted that he enjoyed every bit of the experience, “Everything was fun, from trailing from behind hanggang sa umabot sa dulo---talagang kaba hanggang umabot dun.”
