Roxanne Guinoo and Melissa Ricks
After being away from the limelight for a while, Pambansang Host Luis Manzano challenged Roxanne Guinoo and Melissa Ricks to an acting showdown with Negi. The scene featured Melissa and Roxanne as stepsisters jealous of their half-sibling Negi’s beauty.
The three began their acting challenge, with Negi confronting her stepsisters, “Napapansin ko… parang kinaiinggitan n’yo ako.” This remark made Roxanne and Melissa raise their eyebrows. Negi continued, “Kasalanan ko bang magkaroon ng mala-anghel na mukha, parang bulak na kutis? Parang gusto n’yo akong palayasin sa bahay na ‘to, ate.”
Melissa was definitely in character as she quickly replied, “Eh bakit hindi ka lumayas?” to which Negi joked, “Wala akong pamasahe,” earning laughs from everyone in the studio. Later on, Luis, as the narrator, explained that both sisters would slap Negi at the same time---and Roxanne and Melissa did just that, slapping Negi side by side.
Hero Angeles then entered the scene as Negi’s special someone who would save her, and screams of kilig filled the studio. Roxanne asked why Hero would save Negi, to which he gave a funny response, “Rare siya, rare.”
Ara Mina
Negi took on another acting challenge, this time with actress Ara Mina, who showcased her acting prowess alongside her. Luis set the scenario, Ara, who belongs to a happy family, discovers that her husband is cheating on her with Negi. The challenge was for them to dive into an intense confrontation.
Ara began the scene in tears, crying, “Ikaw? Ikaw ang pinagpalit sa akin?” She sobbingly asked Negi, who was fully immersed in her fierce character. Negi retorted, “Ang tagal mong nawala, umalis ka, ako lahat gumawa,” emphasizing the sacrifices she made for the family and questioning Ara’s absence.
The tension escalated when Ara responded, “Nasaan ako? Nasa abroad ako nagta-trabaho!” She locked eyes with Negi, inching closer. After a few seconds, Ara slapped Negi across the face. Negi lightened the mood with a joke, “Nakakita ako ng mga stars,” which earned laughs from everyone.
Janice de Belen
Veteran actress Janice de Belen also joined in on the fun, stepping into a confrontation scene with Negi. In the middle of the game, Luis noticed Janice looking quiet---perhaps even frustrated---and suggested that she takes on an acting challenge with Negi, encouraging her to slap the latter if she wanted to release some tension.
Janice hesitated at first but eventually agreed, even fixing their blocking before the scene began. Negi immediately slipped into character, saying, “Ate, sorry hindi ko nabili ‘yung pinapabili mo sa akin. Sorry ate, nakalimutan ko kasi eh.” Janice grew frustrated and howled back, “Hindi ka kasi nakikinig sa akin! Sinabi ko na sa’yo, makikinig ka!” before slapping Negi.
However, her palm didn’t quite land on Negi’s face, as Janice felt bad about slapping her for real. Luis, ever the joker, asked for another take, “Kailangan lapat talaga, kasi ipapalabas ‘to sa Cannes [Film Festival],” he quipped. Janice and Negi went for another round, with Janice finally delivering a real slap. Luis then joked that the camera failed to capture it, prompting Negi to playfully lash out at the cameramen.
Gladys Reyes
Primera Kontrabida Gladys Reyes, known for her iconic roles that strike fear in every bida she’s ever gone up against, took on the challenge of a confrontation scene with Negi. Luis asked Gladys how it feels to be recognized as one of the most effective kontrabidas ever. Gladys shared, “Nakakataba ng puso… sabi ko nga, kapag nagagalit sila sa akin, dun sa mga pino-portray ko, pinaka-palakpak ko ‘yun.”
Luis then asked how she prepares for intense scenes, and Gladys explained that she motivates herself to the point of actually getting mad at the person she’s acting with. This led Luis to suggest Negi as her scene partner.
Gladys was tasked to deliver a slap as if she had never been mad before. She prepared, asked for an actor’s cue, and began the scene with Negi. Her first attempt at a slap didn’t quite land, prompting Negi to tease her about her small figure. The playful jab only fueled Gladys further. The two engaged in a heated confrontation, and this time, Gladys successfully slapped Negi, and the audience were entertained.
Maricel Soriano
It has long been a running joke in the industry that you’ve truly “made it” in your career once you’ve been slapped by none other than the Diamond Star, Maricel Soriano. When Maricel failed to answer on time during the game, Luis suggested she release her frustration by slapping someone---and gave Negi the spotlight for her to let out the tension.
Negi grew nervous as Luis walked her closer to Maricel. The Kapamilya actress even removed her jewelry as she prepared, and without hesitation, she slapped Negi. Luis immediately asked if the camera had captured the take and requested another round of the sampalan scene.
Maricel showcased her talent by quickly coming up with dialogue, then slapped Negi once again. Luis asked Negi how it felt to be slapped by the Diamond Star, to which Negi replied that it was an honor. Luis jokingly asked if Negi wanted to get back at Maricel, but Negi instantly refused.
Later on, as Maricel trailed behind in the game, Luis encouraged Negi to check on her. Nervous, Negi approached, only for Maricel to playfully lash out. Luis urged Negi to walk even closer, and when Maricel once again removed her jewelry, Negi panicked---dropping to her knees---before getting slapped… again.
