The January 17 episode of “Rainbow Rumble” was packed with laughter and suspense. Adding spice to the showdown were our iconic 90s sexy stars playing as this week's Rumblers!
Joining our Pambansang Host Luis Manzano and Ka-Rambol Iyah Mina were Alma Concepcion, Ynez Veneracion, Allona Amor, Lara Morena, and Natasha Ledesma. It turned out to be a tight battle among our players, with Natasha and Allona---granted the Atras Powers---trying to use them against Alma, who still managed to inch closer to the top spot. In the end, it was Ynez who clinched her place in the jackpot round.
After the game, our Rumblers shared their experiences and takeaways from playing. When asked how she felt about not making it to the jackpot round, Allona Amor said she was happy despite not winning. “Ang importante dito ‘yung experience, at saka ‘yung bonding naming magkakaibigan. Parang nagkasama-sama kaming magkakaibigan dito,” she shared. She added that she was there simply to enjoy and play.
Lara Morena shared the same sentiments, saying, “Ang importante is we had fun, lahat kami nag-enjoy.” The same goes for Natasha Ledesma who, despite finishing in last place, still enjoyed the game. “’Pag alam mo ‘yung sagot, nauunahan ka. ‘Pag hindi mo naman alam ‘yung sagot, nangunguna ka. Enjoy enjoy lang naman kami,” she said.
Despite being a fun game, it was still quite challenging to keep up with everything in “Rainbow Rumble.” When asked which part of the game they found difficult, Allona recalled one question where she mistakenly answered “biology” instead of referring to a person who mixes alcoholic drinks. Even with those slip-ups, she expressed how happy she was for Ynez, who earned the top spot and advanced to the jackpot round.
Lara, meanwhile, looked back on her run in the game. “Tama naman ‘yung mga sagot ko. Kaya lang, wala lang ‘yung mga color na [lumalabas] sa button,” she recalled. She admitted that it somehow discouraged her while playing. “Instead na naka-[move] forward ako, naka-stay ako. But it was okay, okay pa rin,” she added.
Aside from being a fun experience for everyone, the Rumblers also shared the lessons they picked up while playing. Allona admitted that some of the questions were truly challenging for her. “May mga questions doon na, sa totoo lang, hindi ko din talaga alam. At least may mga pumasok na learnings sa akin,” she said.
On the other hand, Lara highlighted the importance of pre-game preparation. “Kailangan meron kang enough sleep… kailangan meron kang sharp mind talaga,” she advised. She also emphasized the need to stay focused---especially on Luis as the game master. “Kung hindi ka naka-focus, mabablanko ka,” she added.
Natasha emphasized the importance of staying updated, saying that watching and reading current events could definitely help in answering the questions. “Hindi ka para walang alam, ‘di ba? Nakaka-blanko pala talaga ‘pag nandoon ka na,” she shared.
Despite not winning the jackpot prize, Ynez Veneracion was happy with her experience. She shared that one of her key takeaways was the importance of preparing beforehand---especially since she easily gets nervous during games.
As for her own pre-game rituals, she admitted that she didn’t really get to prepare. “Hindi ko siya masyadong napaghandaan, at saka isang beses ko lang din siya napanood,” she said. Ynez added that she only watched an episode of “Rainbow Rumble” after receiving the call about her guesting, just to have an idea of what the game was all about. Still, she expressed that she would love to play again if given the chance.
When asked about her favorite moments in the game, Ynez beamed, “Lahat! ‘Yung excitement, nandoon.” She shared that her mindset before playing was simply to have fun and spread happiness. That’s why she chose to just be herself onstage---even while surrounded by a beauty queen and the more reserved personalities of her co-contestants. “Sabi ko, ‘medyo baklain kaya natin para mas masaya,’” she revealed with a laugh.
