Actress Ruffa Gutierrez couldn’t be happier now that her two daughters are keeping in touch with their father, Yilmaz Bektas.
In the vlog of businesswoman Anna Magkawas, the 51-year-old actress spoke anew about the status of her relationship with her former partner, with whom she shares children Lorin and Venice.
Ruffa still believes that her children should maintain their relationship with their father, reiterating that she has long forgiven him.
“Actually, matagal ko na siyang pinatawad sa mga nangyari,” she said. “And you know for me, tatay pa rin naman nila si Yilmaz so I believe that they should have a good relationship with their dad kasi nag-reach out naman siya.”
The actress is confident that her two daughters, who are both pursuing their studies in the United States, are “old enough” to make their own decisions.
“For me they are already of the age to know what’s right and what’s wrong so minsan sila na ang nagtatawagan, they don’t have to go through me anymore,” she said.

According to Ruffa, she is happy with their current co-parenting setup as it makes her kids feel happy as well.
“Co-parenting siguro is the right term, and masaya ako kasi when I see my kids happy, I’m also happy,” she remarked.
Ruffa then spoke about how she found her way towards forgiveness.
“Well, I think in every breakup na masakit, there’s always gonna be disagreements or bitterness in the beginning,” she said. “And then time heals all wounds eh. Lahat ng naramdaman natin noon, kahit papaano, natatapos na rin ‘yun. Unti-unti nakakalimutan, natatabunan. And I think with prayer, I think God heals all the wounds.”
The actress emphasized that although they didn’t get back together, they were able to rebuild their good connection.
“Now we’re in a good place,” she said. “Hindi po kami nagkabalikan. Alam ko maraming Ruffa-Yilmaz fans diyan. Hindi kami nagkabalikan as lovers pero siguro nagkabalikan ‘yung magandang samahan namin, nagku-kwentuhan kami minsan.”

“I can say we’re friends that don’t see each other because I haven’t seen him since 2007 or 2008. So, I’ll say instead of friends we’re text mates, phone pals. We don’t hang out. We don’t see each other in person, that hasn’t happened yet. Time will tell kung mangyayari yun but ang maganda diyan,” she added.
Ruffa remains hopeful for their much-anticipated reunion, adding that she would bring her parents and whole family with her when that happens.

In the meantime, she shared that her ex-husband is once again planning for another reunion with their kids, this time in Europe.
“Nagkita sila sa Turkey last two months ago. And then now, Yilmaz is inviting the kids again para sa Europe naman and this time sabi niya longer sana pero depende pa rin sa school schedule,” she shared.
It can be recalled that in June, Lorin and Venice spent their summer vacation with their dad in Turkey, as shared by the actress on Instagram.
