MANILA — Savi Davison was overjoyed with PLDT’s result in this year’s PVL Invitational Conference, even as they fell short of defending their crown.
Although they were dethroned, the Fil-Canadian star was happy to see her team bounce back and end the tournament on a high note.
The High Speed Hitters snatched the bronze by taking down Creamline twice in three days, the latest being a 25-20, 20-25, 25-21, 25-22 victory in the battle for third on Tuesday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Previously, they lost against Nxled and Ho Chi Minh in the preliminaries.
“I’m just so happy we won. I can't stop smiling. I know it's not enough for us, but I think we were able to do our best given our circumstances, given what we were handed,” said Davison, who fired 29 points after dropping a 37-piece on Sunday.
Davison was satisfied to see her team come out healthy and contribute to the win.
“I don't really like to talk numbers much. As long as I can help in some capacity, I'm happy with that,” she said.
“I'm just happy we're all healthy coming out of it. I'm happy that we were able to finish on a win. Although we weren't able to make it to the finals, I'm so proud of our group.”
Davison and PLDT seek to reset for the upcoming All-Filipino Conference this October.
