MANILA (UPDATED) — PLDT saved its 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational Conference campaign with a bronze medal result, beating Creamline, 25-20, 20-25, 25-21, 25-22, in the battle for third on Tuesday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Dethroned in this year’s iteration of the tournament, the High Speed Hitters still secured a podium finish by thwarting the squad that has U.S.-bound Jaja Santiago-Minowa twice in three days.
It was them who ultimately denied Creamline on Sunday a finals entry, which could have pitted the latter against guest squad EST Cola for the gold.
The win also marked PLDT's back-to-back second runner-up finishes, after taking the bronze in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

“Definitely, marami kaming natutunan. Ganun talaga ‘yung dine-demand sa amin, mag-show up talaga na lagi kaming dapat halos perfect para makuha namin ‘yung pinaka-goal namin,” said coach Rald Ricafort during the postgame press conference.
As usual, it was Fil-Canadian Savi Davison who anchored the win, exploding for 29 points right after dropping a 37-point masterpiece over the Cool Smashers just this Sunday.

She was stellar in the floor defense as well, tallying 15 excellent digs and 13 excellent receptions.
Jovy Prado supported with 12 points, while Kianna Dy added 10 markers, as Kim Fajardo’s prints were over the place with 15 excellent sets.
Meanwhile, this marks another unfortunate result for the 11-time champions, sliding outside the podium with the fourth-place finish.
Santiago-Minowa’s Invitational partnership with Creamline ends with a 19 points built on 13 attacks, three blocks and three aces, while Jema Galanza totaled 16 markers and nine digs.
Tots Carlos added 11 points, as Ishie Lalongisip tallied 10.
