UAAP reschedules La Salle-Ateneo, UST-FEU games amid 'Uwan' threat

MANILA — The UAAP announced Saturday afternoon the postponement of its basketball, collegiate men's football, and high school volleyball games on Sunday, November 9, amid the threat of Typhoon "Uwan."

Games will be rescheduled to a later date, according to the league, and will be duly revealed once they are finalized.

"We strongly advise everyone to take all necessary precautions, stay indoors if possible, and ensure the safety of your family and loved ones during this severe weather event," said the UAAP in its social media post.

"The UAAP will release the rescheduled dates and times for the affected games as soon as they are finalized. We thank you for your understanding and patience, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on the court safely once conditions improve," it added.

Games affected by this are the UST-FEU and Ateneo-La Salle bouts in men's and women's basketball tournaments.

According to the latest by weather state bureau PAGASA at 5 p.m., "Uwan" continues to rapidly intensify as it begins to move closer towards the country. In the same bulletin, wind signal No. 2 is hoisted over Metro Manila, where UAAP games are held.
