Outside of the life-changing circumstances portrayed in the eventful “Someone, Someday,” actors James Reid, McCoy de Leon, Miggy Jimenez, Nicco Manalo, and Bong Gonzales eagerly gathered to determine the most convincing or most gullible among them, in this fun-packed “Imposter Challenge.”
The magic word for round one is “Jade & Jude,” the bustling local bar owned by Jordan Valentin (James Reid), and where Robbie Jacinto (Nicco Manalo) and Rain Delgado (Bong Gonzales) serve as Jordan’s two loyal employees.
Miggy (who plays Charm’s lover, Ralph Rosales) smoothly began the relay of descriptive words by using “music,” followed by James’ “neon,” McCoy’s “Someone, Someday,” and Bong’s “party,” which he mixed with a little dance.
During their second attempts, everyone continued to give persuasive answers, including “sisig,” “energy,” and even “maoy,” a widely used Cebuano word defining the emotional state of being overwhelmed with sadness, anger, or drunkenness.
Meanwhile, McCoy (who portrays the devious Caloy Toledo) had people laughing when he jokingly mentioned James’ song “Randomantic.” However, since McCoy’s final response was “Billy” (the protagonist brought to life by Kathryn Bernardo), his friends believed he was the imposter when it was actually Bong all along.
Moving forward, Choc Nut, an irresistible candy bar featured throughout the series, became the topic for round two. While listing related nouns and adjectives, James pointed out that he always suspected McCoy of being the imposter. “Mukha ba akong sinungaling?” McCoy light-heartedly asked.
Although everyone shared relatable terms such as “childhood,” “masarap,” and “white & red,” Miggy’s word “classic” ultimately exposed him as the imposter.
For the final round, even the viewers had a difficult time guessing the subject, especially with clues like “Blaire” (Verna Joy Periwinkle’s character), “Maja,” and “one-of-a-kind.” In the end, James correctly identified Nicco as the imposter, though the actual answer was left ambiguous, yet closely aligned with McCoy’s explanation about wires and hackers.
Catch the interactions between James, McCoy, Miggy, Nicco, and Bong in “Someone, Someday,” streaming on iWant and airing weeknights at 8:45 pm on ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, Kapamilya Channel, TV5, A2Z, and Kapamilya Online Live (KOL).
