You’ll find plenty of amazing friendships to get excited about in “Someone, Someday,” but the connection that’s quite different from everyone else is the one between Abi Mercado (also identified correctly as Bea Mercado) and Carlos “Caloy” Toledo. Both Maja Salvador and McCoy de Leon convincingly portray these tricky characters, with Maja effortlessly capturing Abi/Bea’s two-faced personality and McCoy perfectly embodying Caloy’s conniving identity.
Ready for a greater display of their teamwork, Maja and McCoy confidently took part in this viral acting challenge, in which they invited viewers to tune into “Someone, Someday” while speaking with five different kinds of emotions.
To get started with the supportive tone, the pair first cracked jokes and laughed together, which eventually led to McCoy succeeding in his bright delivery. Maja reacted similarly, energized by McCoy’s good vibes. “Si Maja ‘yan… Hindi papatalo,” McCoy commented.
The next emotion conveyed was disappointment. McCoy continued to lead, but this time using a lower-pitched voice and combining it with a noticeable frown. Maja, on the other hand,
straightforwardly said the assigned sentence, wearing a blank expression that would probably make others nervous.
Changing into their sarcastic persona, McCoy instantly accelerated the action by nodding and bringing out the false cheerfulness with the expected insincere manner. Maja then gently reminded him to be more subtle before performing her own version, easily grabbing everyone’s attention with her expressive eyes.
On their fourth attempt, expectations for their angry behaviors were met. Directly staring at the camera, McCoy’s verbal style was sharp and sudden, prompting Maja to respond with a loud clap of approval. Afterwards, Maja’s reputation as the revenge drama queen eventually resurfaced, stretching it even more by acting as though she was still upset with McCoy, who humorously offered her the fake plant as a peace offering.
In the very end, both of them assumed the roles of their “Someone, Someday” characters. McCoy smoothly showed off Caloy’s playful nature, especially with his cheeky grin. When Maja wondered about how she would present Abi/Bea, McCoy suggested combining every emotion they performed. Right away, Maja kept her focus on McCoy, getting him to trust her exactly as her character would typically do in the series.
