MANILA -- Actress Jodi Sta. Maria is joining the cast of the upcoming movie "2nd Miracle in Cell No. 7," VIVA Films announced through a social media post on Thursday.
The MMFF earlier announced that "2nd Miracle in Cell No. 7" will be one of the entries for its 52nd edition this December.
Directed by Nuel Crisostomo Naval, it is the sequel to the 2019 adaptation "Miracle in Cell No. 7," which was also an official entry to the MMFF.
In the new movie, Sta. Maria will be portraying the character of Angela and will be joining the orginal film's stars Aga Muhlach and Xia Vigor.
"Lahat ng himala ay mag pinagmulan. Kitakits ulit this December 25 in cinemas nationwide!" part of the caption read.
"Miracle in Cell No. 7" follows a mentally impaired father (Muhlach) who is sent to prison for the accidental death of a government official's daughter. His warmth and innocence win over his hardened cellmates, prompting them to sneak his young daughter (Vigor) into their cell.
