MANILA — Coco Martin has nothing but praise for longtime partner Julia Montes, whom he described as a “hulog ng langit” who helped shape both his personal life and career.
In an exclusive video released by CCM Film Productions, Martin opened up about how Montes has influenced his growth over the years.
"Napakarami nang naitulong niya sa akin lalo na sa growth ko, sa personalidad ko, sa mga pananaw ko sa buhay. Ngayon natutuwa ako kasi sabi ko nga medyo matagal na rin kami, halos 15 years, hindi ba? Pero habang tumatagal, mas lumalalim 'yung pagmamahalan, 'yung understanding,'yung respeto. Lalo na ngayon pinasok na namin 'yung seryosong mundo namin hindi lang bilang artista kung hindi ako bilang director, creator, writer and producer," he said.
"Sa totoo hindi siya madali, sobrang hirap. Pero ang pinakamasarap kasi ay mas nararamdaman namin sa isa't isa 'yung suporta, pagtutulungan at pagmamahalan namin. Kasi sa ganitong trabaho sa totoo lang 'yung pressure, maari kaming gumive-up, give up kami sa trabaho namin o masira 'yung relasyon namin.
"Kaya nga 'yung (tanong) mo kanina, siya ba 'yung bigay ng langit sa akin? Hindi magiging ganito ang direksyon ng buhay ko kung hindi dahil kay Julia, kasi siya 'yung naging daan, siya 'yung naging guide ko," Martin added.
Martin and Montes are the stars of hit primetime series "Sigabo."
Last week, the long-awaited romance between their respective characters Gabo and Sam started to unfold in the series. As seen in an episode aired last week, Sam literally fell into Gabo’s arms after falling from the roof of his house in Ginintuang Lupa.
"Sigabo" airs weeknights at 8 p.m. on AllTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, iWant, and TV5.
