Netflix has released the official trailer for the upcoming K-drama Four Hands, Two Sonatas starring Song Kang and Lee Jun-young.
In the series, Kang stars as Kang Pio, while Jun-young plays Choi Jeong Yo.
According to its synopsis, the drama follows “two young pianists from completely different worlds” who meet at an elite music high school, where “the melodies of their lives become intimately intertwined.”
The trailer offers a glimpse of Kang Pio and Jeong Yo performing a piano duet together.
“You take the pedals. I’ll take the score. Save this performance in your memory,” Kang Pio tells Jeong Yo.
As the trailer progresses, however, hints of rivalry begin to emerge between the two gifted pianists.
“Perfect together at the piano. One piano, two geniuses,” the trailer declares.
Fans online were quick to react to the trailer.
"My two best male leads together," one fan commented.
"Oh I’ve been waiting for this oneee," another fan wrote.
In a recent interview with Herald Muse, as translated by Soompi, Kang opened up about his character and Kang Pio’s relationship with music.
“For Kang Pio, the piano is both a language through which he communicates with the world and a heavy presence through which he must prove himself. At the same time, I think it is everything that drives Kang Pio and causes the greatest upheaval in his life," he relayed.
Kang also revealed that his own fondness for the piano made him even more interested in taking on the project.
"I’ve always liked the piano as an instrument, to the point that I listen to piano pieces and jazz piano in my everyday life. So I think I was even more drawn to this project because it centers on music," he stated.

Meanwhile, Jun-Young shared what viewers can expect from Choi Jeong Yo in an interview with Ilgan Sports, as translated by Soompi.
“For Choi Jeong Yo, the piano is something he wants to face but cannot bring himself to face,” Jun-young shared, highlighting Jeong Yo’s complicated feelings toward the instrument.
He went on: “After distancing himself from the piano following a series of events, Choi Jeong Yo remains stuck in that period of his life, but he begins to heal after meeting Kang Pio (Song Kang).”
Jun-young also explained that the drama’s focus on music played a major role in his decision to join the project.
"Four Hands, Two Sonatas was also a project with the appealing subject of music, which I had always been interested in. That gave me a strong desire to challenge myself and explore it more deeply as an actor, so I chose the drama without hesitation," he remarked.
