Although she was born into a clan of showbiz royalty, Frankie “Kakie” Pangilinan did not choose the immediate and easy path of following in the footsteps of her mother, the country’s undisputed Megastar Sharon Cuneta. Instead, she decided to leave the country and pursue a degree in literature and anthropology in New York where she eventually graduated from last year. Since then, the 25-year-old artist has been focusing on her musical career. Now, she is making her acting debut in the biopic Edjop.

In the film about the life story of Edgar “Edjop” Jopson, who was one of the most impactful youth organizers of the time, Kakie plays the role of the popular activist’s wife.
Kakie’s mother Sharon implored her followers to support her eldest daughter’s big screen debut in a recent Instagram post. Sharon wrote, “My Kakie’s first movie!!! Hope you can all support it. Thank you!💖💖💖🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌸🌸🌸”

The film biographical political drama film, directed by Katski Flores and co-written by Jade Castro, is scheduled to go on a campus tour called EDJOP Campus Conversations. It aims to bring members of the film's cast and creative team onto university campuses across the country for 90- to 120-minute talks that go beyond the trailer and the poster — into the history, the filmmaking, and the reason a story about a 1970s student leader still matters to a 2026 classroom.

As of this writing, the Edjop Campus Conversations Tour have confirmed seven university host sites all over the country, starting in Southwestern University-Phinma in Cebu. Flores, who is leading the grassroots-coded DIY promo campaign as well, says since the announcement on social media, they have been overwhelmed by the response and is now fielding requests from other schools and trying to accommodate as many campus sites as they can.
