MANILA -- "Honor Thy Mother," the upcoming original series starring Sharon Cuneta and Barbie Forteza, is set to premiere on September 11 on Prime Video.
This was announced by Prime Video via social media on Tuesday morning as it shared the show's first look.
"Two generations. One fight for legacy," part of the caption read.
In the family drama series, Cuneta and Forteza, who are working together for the first time, will play mother and daughter who reunite after years apart, only to find themselves on as “fierce rivals.”
Cuneta plays the powerful CEO of a family-run business whose carefully controlled world is shaken by an unexpected crisis. Forteza portrays a determined young woman who discovers that she is Cuneta’s long-lost daughter.
Throughout the series, they must confront their complicated past while fighting for what they believe is rightfully theirs, forcing them to choose between rebuilding their relationship and allowing long-buried secrets and ambitions to tear them apart.
Directed by award-winning filmmakers Onat Diaz and Jojo Saguin, the series also stars John Estrada and Khalil Ramos, Tonton Gutierrez, and Mercedes Cabral.
"Honor Thy Mother" marks Cuneta's second project with Prime Video, following the 2024 hit drama "Saving Grace."
In her previous statement, Cuneta expressed happiness starring in the series, which is a collaboration between ABS-CBN Studios and GMA network. -- With report from Anna Cerezo, ABS-CBN News
