MANILA — “Ang Panday,” the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival entry starring and directed by Coco Martin, has landed in Netflix Philippines’ Top 10 movies.
The fantasy-action film, which originally screened in cinemas in 2017, recently found a new audience on the streaming platform.
Martin thanked viewers who streamed the film in an Instagram post.
“🔥 Alamat never dies. ⚔️ Top 10 sa Netflix Philippines ang Ang Panday starring and directed by Coco Martin! Salamat sa bawat stream, share, at suporta. Patuloy ninyong pinapatunayan na buhay na buhay pa rin ang aksyon at alamat. Keep on streaming! Maraming salamat po! ❤️🔥,” Martin wrote.
In the movie, Martin plays Flavio III, the grandson of the original Panday whose life suddenly turns upside down when he realizes that his bloodline is destined to save humanity from the evil doings of Lizardo (Jake Cuenca).
And like the original beloved hero, Flavio III gets to meet various characters that will help him become the rightful heir to the revered name Ang Panday.
Currently, Martin with Julia Montes are lead stars of hit TV series "Sigabo."
