This fierce line was delivered by Ivy Aguas, portrayed by Maja Salvador, in the 2017 phenomenal hit series Wildflower. The moment came after her shocking revelation that beneath the name Ivy Aguas, she is in fact Lily Cruz, the woman the Ardiente family thought they had already destroyed.
Wildflower follows the journey of Lily Cruz, a kind and intelligent young girl raised by loving parents, school teacher Camia (Sunshine Cruz) and public attorney Dante (Christian Vasquez). Their quiet life is shattered when Dante’s last legal case puts the family in danger, forcing them to move to the town of Poblacion Ardiente. The town is ruled by the powerful Ardiente family, led by Congressman Julio Ardiente (Tirso Cruz III) and his daughter Emilia (Aiko Melendez), the provincial governor.

Things take a dark turn when Emilia’s husband Raul (Wendell Ramos) becomes obsessed with Camia. After Dante files a rape case against him, the Ardientes retaliate. Lily’s father dies under suspicious circumstances; her mother is assaulted, and Lily herself becomes a target. Though ordered to be killed, the assassins spare the young girl, leaving her alone to survive.
Lily endures life on the streets until she is rescued by wealthy businesswoman Prianka Aguas (Priscilla Meirelles), who later adopts her. Under Prianka’s guidance, Lily grows into a sharp and fearless woman. When Prianka dies, Lily inherits her fortune and returns to Poblacion Ardiente under a new identity named Ivy Aguas, all armed with wealth, intelligence, and a carefully planned quest for justice.
Ivy slowly dismantles the Ardientes from within, gaining Emilia’s trust, exploiting her son Arnaldo’s (RK Bagatsing) weaknesses, and challenging their political grip. But just when victory seems within reach, Emilia appears to win after she ordered Ivy to be buried alive in a wooden casket underground.
The 168th episode of the series saw the Ardientes celebrating with the townspeople for their town’s 100th founding anniversary. They celebrated day and night, believing that their plan to dispatch Ivy worked. Amid the celebration, chaos erupts, and Ivy returns from the dead.

Dressed in a striking gold gown, Ivy makes a dramatic entrance that left viewers stunned. Standing before the Ardientes, she reveals her true identity as Lily Cruz and declares:
“Pagluksaan man kayo ng iba. Pero ako, hinding-hindi ko kayo pagluluksaan. Kaya nga hindi ako naka-itim, ‘cause black is out, gold is in! Yes, just like gold, I am indestructible!”
The scene instantly made television history that time. According to Kantar Media in October 2017, 33.8% of the country’s total TV audience tuned in to the episode. The episode also ranked as the third most-watched program of the week, behind only TV Patrol and FPJ's Ang Probinsyano, and far ahead of rival shows.
Months later, Maja shared the story behind the now-iconic scene during her 2018 guesting on Gandang Gabi Vice. Acknowledging her discomfort with English lines, she said, “‘Di ba sa totoong buhay hindi naman ako mapag-Ingles?”

She explained how she approached the role, saying, “Siyempre hindi nga si Maja Salvador ’yun, si Lily Cruz, so kailangan ko mapaniwala ang mga tao na CEO talaga ako at Inglesera kahit papaano.”
She also recalled the pressure of filming the scene close to her birthday. “Hindi ko malilimutan! October 4 ’yon, October 5 birthday ko,” she said. “Sabi ko, ‘Birthday na birthday ko, English ang ipapa-linya sa akin?’ At hindi lang ‘I am indestructible’ ’yun, ha. Sabi ko, ‘Paano ko ba hahati-hatiin ’to?’ Buong araw, ‘Black is out, gold is in!’”
Beyond its massive local success, Wildflower earned international recognition after airing in French-speaking territories such as New Caledonia, Polynesia, and Reunion with ABS-CBN's partnership with Ampersand fiction, a French content distributor. The series was also nominated at the 1st Asia Contents Awards in Busan, South Korea, where Maja also won Best Actress for her dual role, making her the lone Filipino winner that year.

The power of the line extended beyond fiction. During the ABS-CBN franchise shutdown protests in 2020, Maja referenced the dialogue to show solidarity with her fellow Kapamilyas. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), she wrote: “Hindi niyo kami mapapatahimik! hindi niyo kami mapapatumba! lalaban at lalaban kami dahil matibay kami! just like Gold, ABSCBN is INDESTRUCTIBLE!!!!!! #LabanKapamilya #IbalikAngABSCBN ❤💙💚”
