Star Magic rolled out the red carpet for JM de Guzman and Sue Ramirez as it recently hosted a special block screening of their romantic drama “Lasting Moments,” drawing friends and supporters to the event.
The film, which has enjoyed an extended run in cinemas fueled by strong word-of-mouth, served as both a career milestone and a personal celebration for its lead stars who are both happily in love in real life.
Sue, who is in a relationship with actor Dominique Roque, reflected on the emotional journey of making the movie, sharing how filming coincided with one of her lowest points in life. “Sobrang I feel loved right now because Star Magic hosted this block screening for me and JM,” she said.
“While doing this film, ang daming nagfa-flashback sa akin. I was at one of my lowest points, and looking back, proud ako sa sarili ko na nalampasan ko lahat 'yun. This movie will always remind me that I can go through anything kahit may pinagdadaanan, I can still get the job done.”
Now in a happier chapter, Ramirez beamed when asked about her relationship with Roque.
“You don’t expect it to get better, but it always does. We’re very, very happy. Hindi kami nagmamadali -- 29 pa lang ako, ang dami pang pwedeng mangyari. For now, we’re just enjoying and having fun,” she said.
De Guzman, who is in a relationship with singer Donnalyn Bartolome, expressed his excitement over the turnout and the audience’s warm reception. “Just happy and excited. Sana na-enjoy nila yung film the way we did,” he said, describing "Lasting Moments" as “a story of love… isang rollercoaster of emotions.”
He also revealed that the film’s heavy emotional scenes were a challenge, but the strong script, the chance to work with Ramirez, and director Fifth Solomon’s vision convinced him to take on the project.
On the topic of love, de Guzman didn’t shy away from sharing his feelings about Bartolome.
When asked if he sees her as the person he wants to marry and build a family with, the actor smiled and nodded before saying, “Sana… yes.”
