Kapuso actor Alden Richards recently met the stars of the Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning during their promotional tour in Seoul, South Korea.
On his social media page, Alden shared a full-circle moment as he met and had a conversation with Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise, the lead actor of the franchise.
"Ethan meets Ethan… I have no words! #MissionImpossible,” Alden wrote in the caption, referring to Tom Cruise’s iconic character Ethan Hunt and his own character Ethan Del Rosario in the hit Filipino film Hello, Love, Again.
Paramount Pictures International Philippines also posted photos of Alden meeting other cast members of the highly anticipated action film, including Simon Pegg, Hayley Atwell, and Greg Tarzan Davis.
“A one of a kind agent. Thank you @aldenrichards02 for being a part of the #MissionImpossible journey. 🫡,” they write in a caption.
Alden then replied, “Love you guys!”
Several local celebrities expressed their excitement and support for Alden’s special moment with the Hollywood stars. Ogie Alcasid, Kristoffer Martin, Shaira Diaz, Kakai Bautista, Dennis Trillo, Mark Bautista, and Benjamin Alves were among those who commented on Alden’s post.
“Wohohoy! Napakasolid @aldenrichards02 . nameet mo tito Ko!😜🙌🏻,” actor Rodjun Cruz quipped.
Eric Tai also said, “Proud moment bro! Gettem! Idol! 💪🏽💯.”
Alden was one of the invited guests at the Seoul promotional event for the eighth installment of the Mission: Impossible series, titled Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
The film picks up from the events of Dead Reckoning Part One, with IMF agent Ethan Hunt continuing his mission to stop the villain Gabriel from obtaining the Entity, an all-powerful AI system
.
During a press conference with Korean media outlets, Tom Cruise shared insights into performing the film’s daring stunts, including a wing-walking sequence on a biplane and a challenging underwater scene.
"People ask if I'm not scared when facing various difficulties. Honestly, I am," Tom admitted as per Korea Times. "It's okay to feel those emotions and I'm not afraid of them. I don't just look for what's safe."
He also reflected on his passion for filmmaking, saying, “We have a saying, which is 'pressure is a privilege'... The thing I also have realized about myself is how much I enjoy the pressure, how much I enjoy the responsibility of making movies."
When asked whether this would be the final installment in the franchise, Tom remained tight-lipped.
"The audience has to go see the movie, as it is a culmination of the last 30 years of the franchise. So that's what this is. And I don't want to give anything away for audiences," he said, as per Korea JoongAng Daily.
Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning also held its premiere in Tokyo where Tom shared his excitement about the latest film.
“This film is a culmination of the last 30 years of making this franchise,” he said. “And I’m telling you, everything has led to this.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is set to hit Philippine cinemas on May 17.
It had its world premiere in Tokyo last May 5, and is set to screen at the Cannes Film Festival on May 14.
