Three years since he tied the knot with fellow singer Morissette Amon, singer and music producer Dave Lamar admitted married life has been very good to them. Dave revealed what was one of the most unexpected discoveries he had about his wife after they tied the knot in 2021.

“Sobrang OC (obsessive compulsive). In the house, if I get something, I have to put it back exactly where I got it or else, ma-no-notice niya. I’m like, ‘How did you notice that I moved the cup?’ And she’s like, ‘Babe, you have to put the cup back where it was.’ She’s super OC (laughs),” he shared with PUSH ABS-CBN at the Delia D. musical gala night in Pasay City.

Aside from having a strong connection with his wife, Dave admitted that his mother Lorraine is also one of the most important women in his life and was even part of an unforgettable memory during his and his wife’s relationship journey.
“Actually, this is kind of funny. So Morissette and I have a very long and complicated love story. But my most fondest memory of my mom is when Morissette and I had to break up. We were on the beach and I had to tell my mom that I had to break up with Mori and we both just cried. She was hugging me and trying to comfort me. And she was crying also. And then years later, I’m now married! (laughs),” he recalled.
Having come a long way from first meeting on the set when they were both contestants on the first season of The Voice of the Philippines in 2013, Dave said he is now focused on working with his wife on her latest album as she celebrates her 15th anniversary in the industry.
“’I’m actually producing her upcoming album. It’s easy and challenging kasi siyempre I have my own taste. She has her own taste as well. And so when our tastes and what we want to hear in the song collide and clash, then we have to figure out what the middle ground is. Sometimes I win, sometimes she wins. But it definitely is a little more challenging (laughs),” he admitted.
A talented artist in his own right, Dave said his singing career will have to take a backseat at the moment. Last year, the 32-year-old songwriter and producer came out with his first ever full length album Homesick which he wrote when he and Mori were in a long distance relationship for several years.
“For now I’m producing other artists, yes. But I’m also still writing for myself and producing stuff pero I’m also enjoying helping other artists and producing other artists as well,” he said.
