MANILA — Hailed as the biggest gathering of the country's best in OPM, the 39th Awit Awards was a star-studded affair with some of the brightest names in the local music scene under one roof.
IV of Spades, Dionela, and SB19 took home some of the top honors like Album of the Year (Andalucia) and Song of the Year (Aura) for IV of Spades.
Dionela got three big awards like the Best Collaboration, Best R&B recording and Best Rap/Hiphop Recording - all for his song 'Ikigai' with rapper Loonie.
The Kings of PPop SB19 also received a handful of awards including Best Music Video, Best Pop Recording and Best Dance/Electronic Recording - all for their infectious track 'Dungka!'
Janine Berdin was one of the few female awardees that night - as she took home Best Ballad Recording and Best Performance by a solo artist for her song "What if I miss you for the rest of my life".
Indie-folk band Ben&Ben took home two awards - Best Musical Arrangement and Best Performance by a Group.
ABS-CBN's station ID score 'Love Joy Hope' won the Best Christmas song award.
OPM legends Jose Mari Chan, Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid, APO Hiking Society's Jim Paredes, Catriona Gray, Gloc-9, Moophs were some of the award presenters that night.
Next year, Awit Awards will be celebrating its 40th foundation anniversary and it will be held April 2027 and promises to be a big celebration for OPM.
