Sharon Cuneta has no plans to enter politics.
In an interview with Boy Abunda on Fast Talk, the Megastar was asked if she would consider running for public office, to which she replied: "I would consider running away from politics. Tatakbo ako palayo."
Sharon explained that she would not trade the life and career she has built in the entertainment industry for a life in politics.
"I love my life. I love that I'm able to make people happy, thousands at a time in concerts, TV shows, movies. It's a gift. I take care of it. I love the work that I have. I love singing. I love working with actors new and people I worked with before, new directors. I become family on the set with everybody I am working with. It's special to me so I wouldn't trade it for a life in politics, no, it's a horror story," she pointed out.
Despite growing up in a family with members who have held public office, Sharon shared that she was never drawn to politics herself.
"Ako 'yung outsider. Outlier," she stressed. "Since I was about 20 [tinatanong na ako if I would run]. No. My husband is more well-equipped for that."
When asked about the difference between the chaos of showbiz and that of politics, Sharon said the stakes are much higher in public service.
"Sa showbiz it is so understable na iba-iba ang taste ng tao. 'Yung iba Sharonian, 'yung iba hindi. Okay lang... 'Pag meron kaming pagkakamali, hindi naapektuhan 'yung buong bayan. Kapag ang politiko nagkamali, may maapektuhan usually daang libo, milyon and that's a very big responsibility. And I may have the smarts. I may have the heart for it. Ang lagi kong sinasabi, I will never have the stomach for it," she remarked.

Sharon is set to star in the Prime Video series Honor Thy Mother starting September 11.
The actress will headline the show alongside Barbie Forteza.
The series marks Sharon and Barbie'ss first project together, with the two playing an estranged mother and daughter pair whose long-awaited reunion takes an unexpected turn as they eventually become "fierce rivals."
