“Young Blood” actor Aljon Mendoza shared Wednesday that he hopes to expand his career into documentaries.
Mendoza revealed he has previously worked on several documentary projects, including one about the flooding in his hometown of Macabebe, Pampanga.
“Gusto ko mag-try sa pagbabalik gumawa ng documentary. Three years ago nakagawa na ako ng documentary. Naka-tatlo na po ako. Isa sa nagawa ko sa amin 'yung baha sa Macabebe, Pampanga... before pa pumutok flood control,” he said in an interview held in Quezon City. “Baha pa rin hangang ngayon bahay namin, since early 2025.”
The actor said he hopes to venture into lighter storytelling.
“Gusto ko patuloy 'yung docus na 'yun pero gusto ko din try iba. Nagawa ko before kasi mabibigat. I want to explore halinbawa delicacies sa Pampanga, culture,” he explained.
Mendoza, who is also a scholar of King of Talk Boy Abunda, is set to graduate with a degree in Marketing from Philippine Women’s University in July.
“Sobra po 'yung tulong niya. Kasi medyo mahal din mag-aral. Kaya noong in-offer sa akin scholarship, grinab ko na lang. Three years 'yun, tri-sem hindi ko alam kung matutustusan ko yun,” he reasoned.
