Joaquin Arce said he was moved that his stepmom, Angel Locsin, defended him and gave him invaluable support while he was inside the Pinoy Big Brother house.
In a lengthy online post ahead of the Big Night, the actress called out critics who branded the former housemate a “nepo baby.”
“I could not have done it without her,” Arce said in an interview held during his thanksgiving lunch with fans in Quezon City on Saturday. “Pinagtanggol ako ni Darna. She went out of her hiatus just to support me. Talagang nagpapasalamat ako sa kanya… She is one of the first people I met after coming out. Mom ko, dad ko, and tita Angel. Also my lola.”

While Arce admitted he hoped to be the Big Winner, he said he is more than happy with the results after witnessing the organic support from his fans.
“I was in it to win it. But I did my best. I saw the support and love I got from everybody. I am glad to say we did not spend a single peso sa big night. That says a lot,” he reasoned.
“I am grateful I got there. The love is crazy, that is all I could ask for. Hindi ako makapaniwala so many people love me. I am so grateful for everybody,” he added.
