Actress Ruffa Gutierrez couldn’t help but be grateful after witnessing what she described as a “rare gift of nature.”
Ruffa witnessed firsthand the Great Migration of animals during her trip in Tanzania.
“What started as a slow morning at Mara Mara Tented Lodge turned into the experience of a lifetime. Our Pinoy group with @miguuexpeditions witnessed not one, but three Great Migration river crossings in just six hours,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
Sharing a clip of what she called a “dramatic spectacle” that she personally took using her phone, the actress expressed how grateful she is for the experience.

“The greatest show on earth, unfolding right before my eyes. Will forever be grateful for this day,” she said.
In a separate post, Ruffa emphasized how she had a greater appreciation of nature with the absence of a stable signal in the locations that she visited.
“So much has happened since we landed that I can’t even put it all into words! Most of the time there’s no signal—so instead of chasing WiFi, I’m chasing sunrises, sunsets, and the magic of the wild Savannah,” she said.
In another post, the 50-year-old noted that the safari trip was her way of “rediscovering [herself].
It was the first time Ruffa explored the wild, as she stated in an Instagram reel that she posted earlier this week.
“Not everybody gets to travel the world and see nature at its wildest. And to be here in this center in Tanzia, I’m super grateful and happy to be here,” she said in the video.
Prior to visiting the home of the Great Migration in Northern Serengeti, Ruffa first had an up-close encounter with elephants at the Tarangire National Park.
“Looking at all these animals, especially my favorite gentle giants being in their natural habitat and just being one with nature, so surreal,” she remarked.
In her guest appearance in a podcast last August, Ruffa declared that she is now on better terms with former husband Yilmaz Bektas, but she clarified that they didn’t get back together.
“Now we’re in a good place,” she said. “Hindi po kami nagkabalikan. Alam ko maraming Ruffa-Yilmaz fans diyan. Hindi kami nagkabalikan as lovers pero siguro nagkabalikan ‘yung magandang samahan namin, nagku-kwentuhan kami minsan,” she shared.
Ruffa and Yilmaz have been co-parenting their two daughters, Lorin and Venice, who are both studying in the United States.
