“I think nakatulong sa akin on married life is just being at peace and alam ko na may uuwian na ako. Parang hindi na ako lost sheep na parang, I don’t know where my place in the world is,” Yeng told PUSH ABS-CBN.

She described their favorite bonding moments as simple but meaningful.

“Parang manood na kami ng Netflix or magdi-discover na kami ng bagong restaurant na kakainan. Parang meron kaming ganon rhythm,” she happily said.

With their love-filled yet down-to-earth married life, Yeng said she finds deep comfort knowing there’s always a safe space waiting for her.

“Alam ko lang na yes, I’m working, working, but I have a home where I can go to kapag tapos na ang lahat na okay na I’m at peace (again with him),” she said.

Last February, Yeng and Yan celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary with an intimate renewal of vows at The Emerald Events Place in Antipolo. In a heartfelt social media post, Yeng reflected on the love they’ve built over the years where she recalled all the reasons she fell in love with Yan.

“I love you for who you are, and for who you help me to be. I love you for the adventures we’ve had, the memories we’ve made, and the dreams we’re still chasing. I love you for the late-night conversations, the silly jokes, and the quiet moments when it’s just us,” she wrote.

Describing their relationship today, Yeng said, “10 years na kaming married noong February. Mahirap talaga siya, may adjustment (noong una) pero ngayong fully adjusted na kami and super duper strong. As in, kapag nagtinginan kami sa labas, alam na namin yata yung iniisip ng isa’t isa. Very in sync kami.”

Speaking of their synergy, Yeng revealed that Yan played a special role in creating her latest single, “Lumulutang, Nahuhulog.” Inspired by whimsical TikTok videos, Yeng shared how her husband helped shape the concept and lyrics.

“Sabi ko, 'Parang gusto ko sumulat ng ganung klaseng mga kanta, yung cute.' So sabi ko (kay Yan), 'Love, can you help me with the song I’m writing right now?' Tapos siya yung nag-suggest sa akin na, 'Kung susulatin mo ‘to, i-describe mo yung love with parang naghihilahan na words,” she shared.

“So tinulungan niya ako. Andami niyang binaril na mga salita sa kantang ‘to. As in, ganun siyang type ng asawa. Hindi siya 'oo' sa lahat ng sasabihin mo. Kapag nakikita niya na meron pa, babarilin niya talaga iyan ng idea. Siya nagsabi noong ‘push and pull’ (na concept),” she added.

Parts of the song were also drawn from their own love story, reflecting how their relationship grew through time.

“Sabi niya (Yan) sa akin na, 'If you remember nung nag-start yung relationship natin, parang nakakadismantle ng mundo.' So ito actually, tinulungan ako ni Yan with this song,” she stated.

Yeng also praised how Yan gives her the freedom to be fully herself while being a steady source of support and wisdom.

“He just let me be. I think the best thing na nagagawa ng asawa ko is just letting me be. Hindi niya ko binabago. Alam niya yung flow ng creativity ko. Kapag ka on a roll ako pag songwriting, hindi ‘yan nag-iistorbo. Sobrang hyperfocus na ko, hindi ako bina-bother niyan. Tapos pag kailangan ko ng help, tinutulungan niya ako, may feedback din siya,” she said.

She went on: “Hindi rin siya yung parang under husband. Sobrang strong din siya with his opinions. At kung dapat akong banggain, binabangga niya rin ako. Perfect match, ganoon. He knows when to just let me be. He knows when to help. Sobrang kabisado na namin isa’t isa talaga ngayon.”
