Alden Richards opened up about one of his biggest fears in life as he marks his 15th year in show business.
The actor admitted that the thought of growing old alone has recently started to weigh on him. "Siguro my fear is... I might grow old alone. Ngayon lang siya dumating," he said in an interview on 24 Oras.
He expounded: "Minsan kasi, wala talaga akong pakialam sa sarili ko eh, mas kumbaga parang 'yung mga importante muna. So 'yun lang, parang ngayon lang siya dumating sa akin. Just now and I said it. That's my fear [that] I might grow old alone, and I don't want that to happen."
Despite this fear, Alden remains hopeful that life will give him what he deserves. "Sa buhay naman parang we all get what we deserve. You reap what you sow," he stated.
Alden recently enrolled in an aviation school in Pampanga to become a pilot. In July, Alden shared via social media the snapshots from his first day at Alpha Aviation Group.
In a past interview, Alden relayed that he has always been interested in the world of aviation.
"I've always been so curious paano lumilipad ang ganung kalaki at kabigat na sasakyang pang-himpapawid. Tapos of course how it is being navigated sa langit, ganyan, from point A to point B, paano nakakarating, paano nagte-takeoff," he shared.
Alden also revealed that pursuing flight school is his way of fulfilling a dream once held by his father. "Since nagkaroon ako ng isip sa mundo parang meron akong core objective to fulfill my parents' dreams na hindi nila natupad in their lifetime. And surprisingly, kagaya ng showbiz para sa nanay ko, for me, ito naman dream ni dad for himself, eventually nagustuhan ko na rin," the actor stated.
Despite his demanding showbiz schedule, Alden is confident he can balance it with aviation school through effective time management.
"There's no such thing as a busy schedule when you make time and you have time management. Time management is the key. Definitely this year for ground school and then tuluoy-tuloy na 'to. This will be a two-year course and after I graduate, I'm gonna be able to fly a commercial plane," he highlighted.
