Kapuso star Alden Richards expressed his frustration over the corrupt politicians who continue to steal from the country. In a brief interview shared by TV5 reporter MJ Marfori on her TikTok account, the Hello, Love, Again actor is hopeful that change in the country will happen.
Alden is just one of the many celebrities who aired their concern on the corruption that’s been happening in the government. Recently, several stars joined the September 21 Trillion Peso March held at the People Power Monument on EDSA.

The Kapuso actor shared how timely Gloc-9’s song, "Upuan," is with what’s happening in the country. He then expressed how this isn’t him being a dutiful taxpayer but rather as a Filipino who’s concerned for the wellbeing of his fellow Filipinos.
“Actually, it’s not really more of me paying a lot of taxes every year. It’s when I see people suffering from that eh–– that’s what I can not take not as a taxpayer but as a FIlipino,” he expressed.
Alden then called out the corrupt politicians who are still being investigated at the moment and assured his support towards putting an end to corruption.
“Doon ako galit na galit na kayo–– itong mga corrupt na 'to–– nakakatulog kayo sa aircon, sa malalaking bahay. Tapos yung mga tao, pag bumaha, pag may nangyaring calamity, ultimo family members nila, ultimo buhay nila, nawawala. Kaya nila yun? I mean how dare they?” he added.
He acknowledged how change wouldn’t happen overnight but maintained that this is the first step towards a better Philippines.

“Maybe, like what sir Vince Dizon of DPWH said, na hindi agad-agad, this will be a very long time because it has been systemic already. So, matagal tagal pero kailangan may gumagalaw,” he expressed.
Alden then voiced his concern of this issue just dying down in the future–– just like what happened in the past corruption cases.
“Wag natin hayaan na mangyari nanaman sa atin eh biglang nalang mabaon sa limot because that’s how I saw it–– I’ve been reviewing past corruption cases in the government na parang all of a sudden nakakalimutan siya,” he continued.
“Tinatapalan siya ng iba’t-ibang klaseng balita just so people could forget. The Filipinos are not stupid–– we always remember. Especially right now with our platforms,” he ended.
