MANILA — Nxled drubbed PLDT, 25-19, 25-22, 25-20, to claim its first win in the 2026 PVL Invitational Conference on Tuesday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

It was a bounce-back win for the Chameleons, who fell victim to Creamline last night in four sets, improving to a 1-1 win-loss card.

“Today, definitely, the block and defense has worked better compared to yesterday. We served really, really much better,” said coach Ettore Guidotti during the postgame press conference.

Nxled indeed served well, scoring six aces compared to the High Speed Hitters’ only one.

The errors also spelled the difference, as the PLDT side committed 21 faults, compared to Nxled that only gave up 12 mistakes.

Despite getting outscored in attacks, 44-41, Nxled ramped up the blocking, notching seven kill rejections, compared to PLDT’s four.

In the absence of Brooke Van Sickle, it was the veterans who stepped up in form of MJ Phillips and Myla Pablo, with the help of young gun Lyann de Guzman.

The Fil-American star middle blocker had 13 points including four aces, while Pablo had 12 markers, as de Guzman led the spiking with 10 attack points.

Gel Cayuna steered the wheel with 15 excellent sets, while Jonah Sabete-Escamillan had a decent all-around performance with 15 receptions to go with nine markers.

On the other hand, PLDT's Savi Davison had a 20-point output, but lacked the support as the next scorer was Mika Reyes with eight points, while Kiesha Bedonia and Jovy Prado had five markers each as the squad dropped to 1-1.
