The tomb of Rene Clert Baterbonia in Talacogon, Agusan del Sur was filled with flowers as people continued to visit, pay their respects, and remember him on July 8, one month after his death.

The basketball player and his teammate, Nigerian national Divine Adili, drowned during a team-building activity of the Ateneo Blue Eagles in Aurora on June 8.

Baterbonia's family continues to seek justice for his death. They have coordinated with authorities in Manila and visited the shoreline in Aurora where the drowning occurred.

Meanwhile, the Talacogon Municipal Information Office said preparations are underway for Baterbonia's 40th day remembrance. Local government officials met with his parents on Tuesday to discuss the planned activities.

The LGU said it will provide a live coverage of the commemoration on July 18 for those unable to attend in person.
