MANILA — The Lyceum of the Philippines University has inked a partnership with a sportswear brand for the NCAA Season 102 basketball tournament.
In a ceremonial signing of a memorandum of understanding, the LPU Pirates have officially teamed up with global sportswear brand ANTA Philippines for their uniforms throughout the season.
The formal signing was attended by Mikko Abello, ANTA PH's Senior Marketing Manager, LPU Pirates head coach Jamike Jarin, Director at Lyceum's Center for Strategic Marketing and Communications Roberta Beatrice Vera Cruz, and Dr. Allan Paul Layco, Lyceum Athletics Department Director.

"For this year's uniforms, we came up with a lot of storytelling with regard to the design," said Abello.
They added the crossed swords logo on the collar, as well as the swords with a reflection of water on the side. The Pirates' hat was also incorporated in the jersey shorts and the team's full logo on the nape of the uniform.
Abello expressed optimism that the deal would go beyond Season 102.
"We're coming in to support for Season 102. And hopefully, by the end of the season, we would have a longer deal with them in place," he said.
Aside from the tie-up, two Lyceum basketball athletes have been signed by ANTA as its newest student-ambassadors, namely Renz Villegas and Mclaude Guadaña.
