Former House of Representatives Quad Committee lead chairperson Ace Barbers urged former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque to go back to the country and face the allegations of his links to illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).
This came after reported claims that Roque’s asylum application in Austria had been rejected, which Roque himself also denied.

“Wala na siyang ibang rason kung hindi, he has to face all these charges against him dito sa atin. Wala nang charot-charot,” Barbers said in a press briefing on Tuesday, September 15.
Barbers also rejected Roque’s earlier claims that he was “politically persecuted.”
“Please disabuse yourself from believing you’re an important political figure, because you’re not,” he said.
“You left the country after the PNP and the NBI discovered something, then you left the country. So hindi yun political persecution para sa akin,” Barbers added.
