Miss World 2025 Opal Suchata Chuangsri graced the grand opening of the Kalimudan Festival in Sultan Kudarat on Wednesday aboard a Thailand-inspired float crafted by the municipality of Lebak.
This year’s festival featured a global village, with each town and city presenting attractions inspired by different parts of the world.
Among them were Tacurong City’s Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal by the town of Senator Ninoy Aquino, Palimbang’s Egyptian pyramids, Lutayan’s Statue of Liberty, and Lebak’s Thai temple, among many others.
Each town also performed presentations inspired by the country they represented, blended with their own local culture.
Opal, together with Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Miss Grand International CJ Opiaza, will also host Miss Sultan Kudarat on Thursday.
P-pop kings SB19 headlined the festival’s opening, while Kapamilya stars LA Santos, JV Kapunan, Elyson De Dios, Binsoy Namoca, Kolette Madelo, RK Bagatsing, Gerald Anderson, Jeremy G, Xyriel Manabat, Zaijian Jaranilla, McCoy de Leon, and Jake Ejercito)are also set to join the Kapamilya Caravan on Friday.
The Kalimudan Festival celebrates the province’s diverse communities — Christians, Muslims, and Indigenous Peoples — living together in harmony.
