More than a decade since winning the Miss Universe crown, Pia Wurtzbach continues to use her platform to champion the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.

The beauty queen-turned-style influencer has been named Ally of the Year at the recently concluded Bahaghari Awards of Philippine Financial and Inter-Industry Pride, a non-profit that aims to promote LGBTQ+ inclusion in the Philippines.

Sharing photos from the awarding ceremony on her Instagram page, Wurtzbach declared that she is "forever" a supporter of the LGBTQ+ community.

She also credited the HIV advocacy group LoveYourself, where she serves as an ambassador, as she continues to learn and grow as an ally.

"What an incredible honor," she said.

"The work is far from over, and there's always more to learn every day," she added.

Wurtzbach is one of the Philippines' most prominent advocates for HIV awareness and LGBTQ+ rights.

The UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador for Asia and the Pacific regularly participates in community events and Pride celebrations, and has publicly called for the passage of the SOGIE (Sexual Orientation Gender Identity and Expression) Equality Bill.

In 2024, Wurtzbach was recognized for her humanitarian service and social work in the Ten Outstanding Young Men Awards.
