When Celeste Cortesi found out that she was expecting a baby boy, she immediately concluded that it's "meant to be."
The former Miss Universe Philippines ended up doing a gender reveal in the recent podcast of fellow beauty queen Kylie Verzosa, "Almost Honest."
"I was already shocked that the baby was going to be born the same month [as my dad]. I felt it was a boy, somehow I felt it," she said.
"And then when I found out it was a boy... I think it's meant to be my baby. So it's perfect," she added.
Cortesi has named her baby Sergio as a tribute to her father, who passed away when she was 10.
In the podcast, she fondly remembered her dad as "loving" and "super protective," saying that she felt like her world "broke into pieces" after his death.
"Sergio, my little piece from heaven," Cortesi said in an Instagram post. "A love that never left, just came back in a new way."
"I still can't believe you'll be born the same month as my dad, I love you forever."
Cortesi admitted that she felt both "happy" and "scared" after finding out that she's pregnant, but stressed that she is "ready to be a mom."
"My whole perspective changed so much in the past year. Like the things that I wanted before, now they're not so important," she said.
Cortesi, known to many for representing the Philippines in Miss Universe 2022, is currently in a relationship with British entrepreneur Jonathan Sterling.
She first revealed her pregnancy in April by sharing photos of her sonogram and her growing baby bump.
